How CPI Service Helped Augusto Blacker and Move On Security Confidently Scale their ATM Kiosk Network

When it comes to uptime, Augusto Blacker knows the stakes are high. “When a machine goes down, it is incapable of selling. And these machines are in the business of selling.” “If they go down,” he says, “we might lose a client. We might lose the location.” 

As the Director of Business Development for MoveOn Security, Augusto is responsible for the operational performance of a large and expanding network of bitcoin ATMs. After a series of savvy growth decisions, what began as a hands‑on operation quickly evolved into one of the largest networks in the country.  

“We were becoming one of the largest bitcoin ATM operators in the country and that was exciting,” Augusto explains. “We went from supporting approximately 500 machines to over 3,500 in just a couple of months.” 

Early on, growth meant learning everything first hand. “It was myself and my partner at that moment in time, basically learning about the machines and understanding the different components on the technical side,” he says. 

But as the fleet expanded, the operational strain became clear. “We had already been having issues given the exponential growth of our fleet—not only keeping the fleet up and running, but also servicing these machines,” Augusto notes. “We were managing most of the operational aspects internally, but with 3,500‑plus machines, we needed to expand our team.” 

That reality led to a critical decision. “We realized pretty quickly that we weren’t going to be able to manage the technical aspect of the entire fleet of bitcoin ATMs just by ourselves,” Augusto says. “That’s when we found CPI—and thankfully we did find CPI.” 

The partnership with CPI Service became critical to daily operations and long‑term growth. “Our partnership was instrumental in ensuring that our fleet was clean, online and operational,” Augusto explains. “If a customer comes into a convenience store and finds a machine that’s dirty or not working, they’ll go to a competitor.”
